Sclerotherapy

More About Sclerotherapy:

How It's Works:

Step 1 - Injection: A healthcare professional injects a sclerosing solution into the spider or varicose vein using a fine needle. The solution can be a liquid or foam, depending on the vein size and specific treatment area.

Step 2 - Irritation and Collapsing: The solution irritates the lining of the blood vessel, causing it to inflame and stick together. This irritation leads to the collapse of the vein.

Step 3 - Reabsorption: Over time, the collapsed vein turns into scar tissue and is gradually absorbed by the body, eventually fading from view. Blood flow is naturally redirected to healthier veins.

Step 4 - Results: The procedure effectively reduces the appearance of varicose and spider veins, typically showing results in a few weeks for small veins, though larger veins may take longer or require additional treatments.

Step 5 - Recovery: Sclerotherapy is minimally invasive. Patients can typically resume normal activities immediately, although they may be advised to wear compression stockings and avoid strenuous activities for a short period.

Cost:

  • $275 (Per Session)

*Multiple treatment sessions may be necessary depending on the severity and number of veins.

Considerations:

Sclerotherapy is generally safe and effective, although multiple sessions might be needed for optimal results. As with any medical procedure, there are potential risks and side effects, such as temporary swelling, bruising, or discomfort at the injection site.
